The reason I never order carne asada at mexican restaurants is because it’s always tough and totally turns my taste buds off. AMAZING!!! I am also very picky on the chip/salsa front, and Zs did not disappoint: chips hot, fresh and plentiful; salsa in my “Top 5 ever”. Friendly people, nice service and huge quantity of food. Gentleman introduced himself, shook hands, and seated us. I had the bean and cheese burrito and it was bigger than I thought I would be. Back then, there was a loud jukebox and a public telephone that hung over one of the tables. I gave a 5th star for the friendly service. The food is really good.Came back after trip and we were not disappointed again.

Zacatecas has moved out onto Iowa Ave. from their prior locations at the dogleg on University Ave. (forever 8th St. to me), but the atmosphere and food have not...I order beans, rice, tamale, enchilada and taco. Everything I had was amazing and I can't wait to go back.After reading the earlier comments this was the first place to have a serious dinner at our 2019 US trip!
